J.WEST 7" Compact Outdoor Sharpening Steel
Keep your knives sharp wherever you go with the J.WEST Compact Outdoor Sharpening Steel. Designed for fishing, camping, hunting and general outdoor use, this compact sharpening steel combines professional sharpening performance with a highly portable 7-inch design.
Made from carbon steel with a durable hard chrome-plated surface, the sharpening rod measures 10 mm in diameter, providing a solid and controlled feel despite its compact size. The 5-inch (13 cm) working surface is ideal for maintaining fillet knives, fishing knives, hunting knives, pocket knives and other outdoor blades.
A simple cross-bar handle provides a secure grip while sharpening, while the stainless steel hanging ring makes the sharpener easy to carry, hang or attach to your outdoor gear.
Two versions are available:
Medium Fine Cut – 360°
The entire circumference features a consistent Medium Fine Cut surface. It provides effective sharpening while remaining fine enough for regular edge maintenance, making it an excellent all-purpose compact steel for outdoor knives.
Combination Steel – Medium Fine Cut + Polished
For users looking for a finer finished edge, the Combination Steel incorporates four longitudinal 90° sections around the cylindrical rod:
Medium Fine Cut / Polished / Medium Fine Cut / Polished
The Medium Fine Cut surfaces help restore and maintain the cutting edge, while the smooth polished surfaces provide an ultra-fine honing and finishing stage. Simply rotate the steel to select the surface required.
This two-stage design allows you to sharpen and refine with one compact tool, making it particularly suitable for fillet knives and other blades where a clean, highly refined edge is important.
